Old Man's War
Definitely, this book is worth your time. It's fun, it's got an original premise, and the first half of the story is really well done. The second half has space aliens and nifty military battles, and the whole thing is written with charm and humor.It doesn't have especially deep characters, and I'm including the lead character in that, but who cares? It's a good time.
